The Classification Of Commonly Used Water-Based Paint Additives

According to the physical and chemical nature of the coating, the coating additives can be divided into several categories, such as solvent-based paint additives, water-based paint additives and powder coating additives. A more practical classification is according to coating functionality, performance and composition. Water-based paint additives can be divided into the following categories.

Flatting agent: include wetting and flatting agent and surface tension reducing agent, smooth flatting agent, Silicone flatting agent, acrylic flatting agent, Polyether siloxane flatting agent.

Wetting agent: including substrate material wetting agent and pigment filler wetting agent, anti-foam substrate wetting agent, non-ionic wetting agent.
Dispersing agent: wetting dispersing agent and pigment dispersing carrier, controlled flocculation wetting dispersing agent, flocculating wetting dispersing agent,

Rheological additives: including thickening agent, agent, agent construction solution of variable flow and leveling agent, cellulose thickener, thickening agent, alkali swelling polyurethane associative thickener, according to the characteristics of Newton for the behavior of pseudoplastic thickener, associative thickener etc.

Film forming agent: plasticizer, polymerization agent, cosolvent, cosolvent.
